Accordias Healthcare utilizes a multifaceted approach to Revenue Integrity, focusing on the reduction of claims held (or denied) in the billing system, working directly with Departmental leadership to outline the issue and work to implement processes that are compliant and yet obtain the maximum allowable reimbursements, implement Charge Description Master (CDM) Audits to assure appropriate coding and compliance, and track the progress of these changes for your Executive team by providing documentation to track changes made.

Charge Capture Audits

Are you missing charges?  As many as 87% of hospitals have experienced some sort of charge capture losses.  Our Consultants review the current charge capture process by first completing a chart audit via the review of the EMR/Chart/Charge Capture Sheets/Central Supply utilization reports.  If a charge capture issue exists, Accordias Healthcare provides a detailed listing of the specific charges by department and extrapolates the annual impact or loss to the organization.  After a charge capture opportunity has been identified, our Consultants review the process and outline the new process by teaching both departmental leadership and team members how to audit the charges on a daily basis to assure that all charges are captured at the point of service.  This service consistently provides a significant cash lift to our clients and, in many cases, in the millions of dollars.

Denials Management and Appeals

Accordias Healthcare has used existing Denials Management software utilized by the client and also has implemented third party denial solutions for our clients.  After review of the denials data, the we identify and resolve the most costly and impactful denials through the evaluation of the denial codes (CARC/RARC), as well as assuring correct modifiers are utilized, and look at root cause analysis in order to revise upstream processes that are causing the denials.  We then work with you to evaluate the appeals process, timing, impact by payor to identify ways to strengthen the appeals process, and overturn more denials as a result.  Denials and appeals are one of the most common areas of revenue leakage but are often ignored as the resolution can be a lengthy process and require additional staff.  Let Accordias Healthcare provide you with the expertise and knowledge to maximize cashflow, reduce denials, and improve your appeals process.
